Mean Green Genes

Have you ever wondered how precision medicine works? We break it down in the third and latest episode of our video series, “But First, Science!” brought to you by the Amgen Foundation and hosted by viral creator, Alexis Nikole Nelson, best known on social media as @blackforager.

Watch as Vivienne Watson, an Amgen scientist, and Alexis unravel the mysteries of genotypes as part of the Amgen Biotech Experience. They start in the great outdoors, gathering veggie specimens before conducting a tasting experiment in the lab to explore reactions to bitterness.

Since its establishment in 1990, the Amgen Biotech Experience program has reached over one million students across 16 countries, helping to bring biotechnology out of professional labs and into classrooms.
